Head Teller

Hoyne Savings Bank is currently seeking an experienced Head Teller to join our team in Chicago, IL 60638.

About the Role:
Manage teller operations by supervising and assisting tellers in providing services to Bank customers. 

What You’ll Do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
  • Supervise teller operations. 
  • Conduct and/or assist with audits of teller transactions. 
  • Review and/or prepare various teller-related reports and confirm teller paperwork was completed in accordance with Bank policies. 
  • Assist tellers by providing transaction approval, processing overrides and corrections, guaranteeing check amounts and researching customer issues to resolve account overage or shortage. 
  • Operate teller station as needed and assist customers with various bank transactions. 
  • Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with Regulation DD disclosure requirements and consumer privacy policies. 
  • Assist new accounts department by opening accounts and processing deposits, withdraws and transfers to savings, checking, certificate and IRA accounts. Place and remove holds on accounts. 
  • Coordinate cash vault responsibilities including placing ordering money from the Federal Reserve, filling teller orders for cash and coins, verifying and balancing currency amounts. 
  • Maintain teller station supply and security of items such as cashier checks, money orders, and postage. 
  • Oversee cash balancing of the ATM including loading cassettes into the ATM. 
  • Cross-sell Bank products and services. 

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supervise teller staff including, interviewing, scheduling, approving and tracking time-off, training, coaching and evaluating teller staff. Maintain office equipment by placing service calls as needed. 
  • Track branch monthly expenses and prepare the month-end report. 
  • Open and close the branch location. 
  • Assist in-branch document preservation and security. 
  • Assist with safe deposit and new accounts operations as needed. 
  • Respond to after-hours security-related calls from police and/or security system vendors. 

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED is required. Associate’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field or equivalent combination of experience preferred. 
  • Three to five years of cash handling, customer service and teller operations or equivalent experience. 
  • Two-three years of supervisory experience. 
  • Knowledge of Bank deposit products and policies and loan, trust, and investment center products.
  • Knowledge of various federal regulations (Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E) and teller roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
