VP Sales and Marketing 

WW Rowland Trucking is seeking a full-time VP of Sales and Marketing in Dallas, TX 75241. 

About The Role: 
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee the organization's sales activities, ensuring the development and implementation of current and future growth across the enterprise to meet the current and future needs of the organization. This position is directly responsible for the growth and development of the organization’s full suite of transportation services.  Additionally, this position will be expected to develop and execute processes that constantly improve our commitments to both internal and external customers and provide critical leadership support to its team. This position requires superior business acumen, proactive analytical and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to implement new solutions and continuous improvement programs.  A key focus of this role will be to direct and coach team members to improve efficiency in sales processes, including but not limited to customer onboarding, RMS system approaches, and diversification of our portfolio. 

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • The position reports to the President and will be based in Texas

  • Oversight of the sales team to include outside sales and office personnel 
  • Manage annual sales goals, performance standards, and reporting functions for all customers 
  • Provide accountability for monthly financial results VS budget and KPIs 
  • Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customers, prospects, and industry leaders 
  • Support and review initiatives to ensure alignment with short-term and long-term sales business plans and objectives 
  • Provide data for pricing proposals and competitive insights 
  • Participate in the establishing, implementing, and communicating of the strategic direction of the organization’s sales division 
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and achieve company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on sales projects and systems 
  • Oversee sales team to carry out the organizational goals and objectives 
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in sales management 
  • Recommend and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to steam line organizational processes 
  • Assess the performance of team members and provide constructive feedback and coaching for continuous improvement 
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training will be developed and provided 
  • Work with the sales team to understand and execute the customer’s needs 
  • Conduct communications meetings as needed regarding expectations, performance metrics, and strategic direction 
  • Performs other related duties assigned by executive leadership with the relentless and constant pursuit of excellence 
Job Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent training in Business or Sales Management 
  • At least 10 years B 2 B sales 
  • At least 10 years in Transportation Sales and Marketing 
  • Position will require travel up to 25 – 50%. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills 
  • Extensive knowledge of principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Pro Active and analytical approach to problem-solving 
  • Ability to create and foster a growth mindset-focused environment 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
