Assembler/Fabricator

Water Remediation Tech LLC is currently seeking an experienced Assembler/Fabricator to join our team in Denver, CO (80234).

Job Summary:
The Assembler/Fabricator is an entry level or second level position that takes direction from the Senior Fabricator or Manufacturing Director to fabricate, assemble and test water treatment equipment on a prescribed time schedule. Will be challenged daily to effectively and efficiently complete tasks over multiple projects.  Must be proficient in welding carbon steel frames and proficient in PVC pipe fitting of water treatment equipment.  Must be able to read fabrication drawings and determine all dimension requirements by manipulating fraction dimensions and hit fabrication tolerance of +/- 1/8".  The assembler/fabricator must show skills with hand tools and good mechanical aptitude. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
  • Pipe welding (Carbon Steel & Stainless) ~20% of time spent
  • Frame welding (Carbon Steel) ~20% of time spent
  • Basic machine operations (Lathe and Mill) ~10% of time spent
  • Pipe fitting and assembly (PVC and Stainless) ~ 30% of time spent
  • Prepare for shipment (Generate container lists and crating) ~10% of time spent
  • Shop setup and cleaning ~ 10% of time spent
  • Treatment media/resin loading into vessels on elevated platforms ~10% of time spent
Education and Experience:
  • Associates Degree or trade school in Industrial Technology, Welding or equivalent. 
  • Role requires competency and experience in MIG and TIG welding.  Job experience and other welding training above 3 years may be substituted for a formal schooling degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year on the job experience in welding and assembly.  Welding classes in a trade school with proficient completion of class can be substituted for excellent candidates.  
  • Certificated in process piping welding, 5G preferred.
  • Basic understanding of pressurized water systems including pumps, flow valves, flow meters, filtration, vessels.   
  • Forklift certified or ability to become certified immediately. 
  • Employee must pass a company prescribed physical, background check and drug test.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled in both stainless and carbon frame welding.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical assembly drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Proficient with general fabrication tools, specifically die grinders, sanders, drill presses, band saws and assorted hand tools.
  • Quality oriented with ability to self-inspect work product. Attention to detail a must. 
  • Basic computer literacy (generate timecards, employee reviews, generate procedures).
  • Ability to weld aluminum.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, ability to climb ladders, access confined enclosures, work outside on occasion.
  • Able to fit into tight fitting 18" round man ways during lateral installs for vessel builds.

6 months position with the possibility of coming in as a permanent full time after 6 months.
