About the role

Billing Specialist

An ADP client is currently recruiting for an experienced individual to be our next Billing Specialist to join our team in our Fenton, MO 63026 location.

What you’ll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. 

Process daily census changes

Ensure patient demographic profiles are complete

Conduct Med D, Commercial, and Medicaid Eligibility checks

Identify and enter appropriate payor status

Ensure all patient charges are billed to the appropriate payor status for the date(s) of service

Address claim rejections

Review preliminary charges for appropriateness and accuracy

Billing Customer Service Calls - Facility Billing Calls - Private Pay Billing Calls

Create and Distribute Facility and Private Pay detailed statements by their required monthly deadline

Research billing complaints and/or errors to identify the root cause

Process returns per pharmacy policy

Follow the outlined collection process for outstanding Accounts Receivable

Other duties may be assigned by management

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Required education and experience or skillsets required for the role

Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word) knowledge required

Medical billing experience (of any kind) preferred

Customer Service experience required

Missouri Pharmacy Tech License required individuals can begin working as long as an application is on file with the Board of Pharmacy

Physical Job Requirements:

Sitting for 6 -8 hours

Having a range of motion from kneeling, to bending over to raising arms above head to retrieve stock

Lifting and/or carrying up to 40 lbs.

Reading fine and/or small print

Working off a computer screen for 6-8 hours a day

Work Status:


Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

All billers are required to be in attendance the First and Last days of each month regardless of what day of the week they may fall on

Teamwork – Able to work as a part of a team as well as individually

Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time
