About the role

Parts/Inventory Specialist 

We are currently seeking an experienced Parts/Inventory Specialist to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315


Who We Are:

Atlantic Marine Power Systems has been servicing yachts and the marine industry since 1991. Our services range from Simple oil and filter changes to complete generator and engine system re-builds to control systems repair, paralleling system installations and repair and generator and engine set replacements.

About the Role:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the customers at the parts counter; selling and purchasing equipment and parts; maintaining inventory; purchasing, receiving and assisting service technicians by performing the following duties.

What you’ll do:

  • Purchases parts and equipment for resale and internal service requirements.
  • Identifies, places, and creates purchase orders.
  • Receives parts and equipment.
  • Keeps stock of parts inventory and parts sold regularly.
  • Enters parts received and information in the computer system.
  • Assists with answering phones or any other clerical duties, as needed.
  • Reviews and revises cost of parts and equipment purchased, looking for and negotiating better pricing.
  • Supplies techs and service personnel with part and equipment and/or information regarding them.
  • Assists with other departments, as required. 

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience with Parts Knowledge, Research Knowledge preferred 
  • Marine Industry Experience is a major plus 
  • QuickBooks experience preferred 


Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and column. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Database Software (Access); Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Inventory Software; and Order Processing Systems
