Tax Manager

We are currently seeking a focused, creative Tax Manager to become part of the management of seasoned tax professionals.

Job Description
  • Preparation and review of federal and state income taxes primarily for entities and individuals
  • Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates knowledge of client business.
  • Prepares internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the IRS or state taxing authorities
  • Manages multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
  • Interpret the U.S. tax code.
  • Research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax-related issues.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor staff/managers on projects and assess performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback.

Desired Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 6+ years prior tax experience in public accounting
  • Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus)
  • Experience preparing entities and individual tax returns
  • CPA Certification
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Self-starter and team player with the ability to recognize when additional hour commitments are needed and willing to take on extra work to meet firm-wide deadlines
