About the role
Diesel Mechanic
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Hallandale Beach, FL 33009.
Who We Are:
• We are a family run organization that specializes in diesel engine repair for the boating industry and power generation. We service the tri county area, and most of our work is done out of our shop. Come join our diverse team of fun loving and hardworking people!
What You’ll Do:
• Testing and ensuring a stable performance of boat engines
• Examining and troubleshooting possible issues in the electrical systems
• Undertaking various levels of repairs of marine engines and sometimes generators
• Performing electrical AC system maintenance
• Repairing or replacing damaged/worn-out engine components
• Maintaining accurate and detailed service records and documents
• Analyzing motor performance and identifying malfunctioning signs
• Conducting operational tests
• Changing oil and filters and other components during maintenance checks
• Maintaining a clean work area
• Using hand & power tools for repairing marine and power generation diesel engines
• Determining the effectiveness of cooling systems using thermometers & brix meters
• Identifying possible problems seen to prevent future failures
• Maintain service vehicle (Upon vehicle being issued)
Our Ideal Candidate
Education and Experience:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• An associate degree in diesel technology or equivalent preferred
• Proven work experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the boating industry or similar position required
• Valid driver’s license
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Complete knowledge of marine engines and electrical systems
• Understanding of safety protocols and procedures
• Excellent technical and mechanical skills
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
• Detailed-oriented and highly motivated individual
• Good physical dexterity and mental stamina
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Good communication skills
