Center For Neuro Skills is currently seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (Part-Time or Full-Time) to join their team in Houston, TX 77598

About the role:
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you provide professional nursing care, and implement patient treatment programs at the residential site. Supervise and directly train patients with brain injuries with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's), and therapeutic home programs.
Actively interviewing for part time & full-time shifts:  Weekend AM (7am-3:30pm), PM (3pm - 11:30pm), and Double Weekend (Saturday & Sunday, 7am-11:30pm).

What you'll do:
  • Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient. 
  • Supervises, administers, assists with, and delegates the distribution of medications.
  • Takes vital signs and monitors the medical progress of patients.  Completes documentation and reporting.
  • Follows physician's orders and individual nursing care plans, including assisting patients with daily routines, catheter irrigating and assisting with respiratory treatments. 
  • Provides emergency first-aid for patients and staff if needed. Administers TB tests and Hepatitis B vaccines for staff.  
  • Teaches, monitors, administers and documents individual patient programs including ADL's (as outlined on the Needs and Services Plans) and therapeutic home programs in English.   
  • Performs toilet and chair transfers with assistance for patients up to 150 pounds utilizing approved transfer techniques. 
  • Provides for the safety of patients, visitors, staff and self when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts.   
  • May transport patients in company-owned or personal vehicle when company transportation vehicles are unavailable requiring transferring and driving abilities.
Our Ideal candidate:

Education and experience
  • Current/clear Texas LVN licensure required. Blood Draw and IV certifications preferred.   
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment, post-offer drug screen, health screen, including TB clearance, and fingerprint clearance.  
  • COVID vaccination with booster (when eligible) is required.
