About the role


An ADP client is currently recruiting for an experienced individual to be our next Accountant to join our team in our Huntington, NY 11743 location. 

Who we are:

We provide Mutual Fund Compliance and Trust Services to Investment Advisors and Mutual Fund Trusts to facilitate the development and launch of mutual funds including business strategy, fund structure and innovative distribution alternatives.  

What you’ll do:  

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the financial reporting, month-end closing process, financial statement review, monthly account analysis, and account reconciliations as well as human resources duties.  The role reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance and CEO. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the QuickBooks general ledger including the preparation of general journal entries for income and expense allocations
  • Documentation of daily financial transactions and reconciliations of financial data 
  • Prepare invoices to affiliated Companies as well as various accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and fixed asset ledgers
  • Review and reconcile expense reports and out-of-pocket expenses in accordance with Expense policy
  • Conduct financial and data analysis using Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Assist with preparation of annual and quarterly tax reporting
  • Liaise with client’s third-party audit and tax teams
  • Assist with new client launches and onboardings
  • Recommend and improve accounting and internal control policies and procedures 
  • Assist with various office management responsibilities and ad hoc reports

Our Ideal Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks software
  • CPA designation is a plus, but not required 

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger
  • Expert Level Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, IF formulas)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
