Shift Supervisor

Demis Product Inc. is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join their team in Lithonia, Georgia.

About the Job:
Supervise employees in associated department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this business unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Demis policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Duties:
  • Familiarize yourself with all equipment associated with your department.  Understand the safety hazards of the equipment and explain to your employees these safety hazards and how to avoid them.  Be able to perform changeovers easily, and train others to do so
  • Perform maintenance in conjunction with the company preventative maintenance plan
  • Ensure proper housekeeping is performed on a daily basis and that your department is free and clear of all unnecessary debris  
  • Maintain inventory counts of all products used within your department.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines
  • Analyze staffing requirements and ensure efficient compliance to the production schedule 
  • Manage and prioritize all production processes and implement all production plans 
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Relay job orders to workers and assign duties
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Identify all issues within team and provide continuous support to all members according to operating standards on everyday basis 
  • Maintain product quality.  Suggest changes that need to be made to ensure quality standards are upheld 
  • Develop and maintain effective relations with all company employees at various levels of organization 
  • Prepare necessary paperwork and maintain records of all documents 
  • Maintain and provide support to all 5S program and prepare training program for all status boards
Education and Experience/ Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Has managed teams and similar activities in other businesses
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
