About the role

We are currently seeking a motivated Accountant to join our team.

Who we are:  We are consults with investment advisors to facilitate the development and launch of mutual funds including business strategy, fund structure and distribution alternatives.  


What you’ll do:  As an Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the financial reporting, month-end closing process, financial statement review, monthly account analysis, and account reconciliations as well as human resources duties.  The role reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance and CEO. 

Responsibilities:
Maintain the QuickBooks general ledger including the preparation of general journal entries for income and expense allocations
Documentation of daily financial transactions and reconciliations of financial data 
Prepare invoices to affiliated Companies as well as various accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. 
Prepare bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and fixed asset ledgers.  
Review and reconcile expense reports and out-of-pocket expenses in accordance with Expense policy.
Support payroll and HR functions, including creation, review, and communication of commissions reports 
Conduct financial and data analysis using Microsoft Excel and Access
Assist with preparation of annual and quarterly tax reporting, such as, Puerto Rico Personal Property Tax, Sales and Use Tax, and Exempt Annual Report, Informative 480 and 1099 preparation. 
Liaise with client’s third-party audit and tax teams
Assist with new client launches and onboardings
Recommend and improve accounting and internal control policies and procedures 
Assist with various office management responsibilities and ad hoc reports. 

HR Administrator:
Assist in new employee hiring process utilizing online hiring system
Involved in the annual renewal of medical dental plans
Maintain/update personal records of employees
Ensure HR compliance with ADP policies and current laws. 


Our ideal candidate:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
At least three years of relevant accounting experience
Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP and PR Tax policies
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus, but not required 
Proficiency in QuickBooks software
CPA designation is preferred 

Skills and Abilities
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger
Expert Level Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, IF formulas)
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience with the Puerto Rico Tax laws a plus
