An ADP client, United Way or Miami-Dade is actively seeking for a Senior Manager (Financial Stability) to join their team in their location at 3250 SW 3rd Ave, Miami, FL 33129.

Reports to: Director, United Way Center for Financial Stability

FLSA: Exempt

Work Environment Benefits: Flexible 4 days in office, 1 day remote (over the first 90 days, then may be adjusted to 2 days remote)

 

Expectation for all Employees:

Support the mission, vision, and values of United Way Miami (UWM). When appropriate, participate in various after hours and weekend activities that benefit UWM and the community. Due to the leadership role UWM is called upon to play in the community, particularly during times of crisis, it is the expectation that all UWM staff will be fully engaged in the organization’s crisis planning and response efforts.

 

Position Summary:

To manage the financial coaching function of the United Way Center for Financial Stability and its integration into other United Way and community initiatives.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage United Way Center for Financial Stability financial coach staff team
  • Liaison with community partners including the United Way Center for Financial Stability at Branches staff to ensure coordination of services
  • Manage implementation and integration of strategic initiatives, under the direction of the Director
  • Create and conduct trainings and workshops for staff as needed
  • Manage and coordinate community outreach and staffing of events for the United Way Center for Financial Stability
  • Provide direct financial coaching as needed
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a results-based, goal-driven roadmap to achievement of positive financial stability outcomes in Miami-Dade County; includes research and community engagement, explore and secure partnerships with other community organizations.
  • Manage partnerships including conducting site visits, reviewing, and recording progress and data, preparing reports and promotional materials, and lending technical assistance.
  • Promote United Way Center for Financial Stability to the Miami-Dade community, local businesses, the social service community, and other key groups
  • Represent United Way at various community meetings, conferences, committees; attend and participate in UW special events to support our fundraising efforts.
  • Understand United Way and effectively interact with other areas internally to maximize and leverage opportunities
  • Due to leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly in times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization’s crisis plan and response efforts.
  • Responsible for the supervision of subordinate employees which includes training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and directing tasks.  Has authority to hire, transfer, promote, compensate, or terminate subordinate employees or recommend such actions. 
 

Direct Supervision of Others:

  • Four Financial Coaches
 

Contacts:

  • Internal – Communicate with all levels of the organization to exchange information, collect information, coordinate projects, and solve problems.
  • External – Communicate with volunteers, public, public/government agencies, and UW agencies to exchange information, collect information, solve problems, and cultivate relationships.
 

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Masters preferred.
  • Three to five years’ work experience in financial stability or non-profit/social services arena. Knowledge of social service issues, social service delivery, case management, and needs of low to moderate income populations. Supervisory role experience is a must.
  • Intermediate Outlook, Internet Explorer, Salesforce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, customer relations skills, creative problem-solving skills, good judgment, ability to understand budgets, basic math skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

Operates in a professional office environment; visual acuity and manual dexterity required to operate computer and office equipment. Ability to reach, grasp objects, lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasional stooping, bending, standing, and walking. Frequent travel to other locations. May be required to work additional time and weekends for special projects, deadlines and/or events.
