Procurement Specialist

An ADP Client is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the team in Charleston, SC 29406.


About the Role:

The position of Procurement Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to, procuring various technology products and services for the company’s clients and own systems. Spend time researching and finding suppliers that produce quality items within the business’ budget. The procurement specialist with report to the procurement manager.


Principal Responsibilities:

             Manage purchasing from multiple product lines from multiple manufactures.

             Utilize vendor technology to streamline quoting and ordering processes.

             Spend time working with distribution and suppliers to automate and streamline purchasing researching and finding suppliers that produce quality items within the business’ budget.

             Plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals is necessary for managing these projects.

             In charge of negotiating vendor pricing.

             Ensure that all the products follow the business’ criteria and specification list.

             Gathering and preparing documents (quotes, proposals and purchase terms and conditions) from suppliers for the supervisor to review as needed.

             Carefully analyze and monitor supplier stock levels and record their performance.

             Solve problems of a product or service that does not meet the quality standards of the company.

             Act as the supplier’s main point of contact and answer any questions or address concerns, as needed.

             Anything else assigned by management.


Our ideal candidate:

Qualifications, Education and Experience

             Associates or bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Supply Management or Logistics is preferred.

             Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in Purchasing or buying, required.

             Strong verbal and written communication skills.

             Ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress towards goals over multiple projects.

             Understanding of price points and effective negotiation skills.

             Strong problem solver. Experience in dealing with Multiple Customers’ needs throughout the day.

             Extremely Professional Demeanor.

             Exhibit excellent customer service.


Essential Physical Requirements:

             Ability to lift 50 pounds.

             Ability to stand, bend, and climb for up to 10 hours a day.

             Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system. (Any other systems?)

             Ability to communicate with employees and customers effectively and courteously.

             Ability to read, count and write English to accurately complete all documentation.

             Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to the position.

             Ability to climb ladders.

             Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee operations.
