Staff Accountant

SOL Group is currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Pompano Beach, Florida (33069).

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant reports to the Financial Manager of Sol Group Marketing.  The position is responsible for coordinating the general ledger and financial reporting activities of the finance department.  This position requires the ability to manage several competing priorities and execute against both individual projects as well as broader strategic initiatives. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
  • Prepare and process month-end financial closing and consolidation, on the last and first week of each month.
  • Perform Balance Sheet reconciliation and variance analysis.  Reconcile AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory Modules with Trial Balances.  Close Bank Reconciliations.
  • Monitor accurate posting transactions.
  • Monitor open Purchase Orders:  Produce Purchase Orders and Materials Purchase Orders.
  • Management reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Review overall reasonableness of line-item expenses.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Financial Manager 
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • Between 5 and 10 years of experience working in an accounting department.
  • System requirements include strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and a working knowledge of ERP systems.

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to meet duties and responsibilities with minimum supervision.
