A Manufacturing company in the Saint Paul, MN area is actively seeking a HR Generalist to join the team.

Reports to: Senior Human Resources Manager

Hours/Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8AM to 5PM

Work environment: In-office

About the role:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruiting and staffing logistics, performance management and improvement systems, employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting, policy development and documentation, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, payroll processing and employee welfare. This role serves as the primary point of contact and administrator for all site-specific HR issues between the company's core employees and the PEO (Professional Employment Organization).

What you’ll do:

  • Helps the hiring process by applying the common recruiting and hiring practices and procedures required to find and hire top talent.
  • Organizes planning meetings for hiring when necessary staff is identified.
  • Examines applicants' resumes and selects applicants for jobs.
  • helps with the creation of the company's employee relations policies in the area of human resources.
  • Assists management in disseminating HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
  • suggests using employee relations techniques that are required to build a strong rapport between employers and employees and to encourage high levels of motivation and morale.
  • takes part in the investigation process when grievances or concerns are raised by employees.
  • Informs managers and supervisors of the procedures in the company's progressive discipline system. managers with employment-related advice.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Retains current understanding of employment law, talent management, human resources, and best practices as well as changes to regulations and new technologies.
  • Completes additional tasks as given.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent, two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least three to five years of human resource generalist experience preferred.
  • At least two to three years of recruiting experience preferred.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices highly preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication, compromise, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizing abilities.
  • Strong time management abilities and a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Skilled in using the Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ADP or related software.
