Medical Assistant

An ADP client is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Princeton, Illinois (61356).

Who we are:
Associated Gastroenterology Consultants Inc is a Medical Group that has 3 practice medical offices located in Peru, Princeton and Ottawa. We have 7 health care providers, specializing in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (Cns), Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, being reported as members of the medical group. Medical taxonomies which are covered by Associated Gastroenterology Consultants Inc include Gastroenterology, Physician Assistant, Family, Adult Health.

About the role:
Ensure patient are prepared for clinic and all necessary documents, medical history, medications, reason for visits are documented.

What you'll do:
Prepare patients for provider visits by obtaining all necessary information: Medical, Social, Family, Medical and Surgical history. Update Pharmacy and vitals
Medication reconciliation
Complete necessary screening and any items needed for Meaningful use.
Perform all in office testing for H-pylori, Lactose, Frutose and Hemoccult tests.
Perform Fibroscans-Peru Only
Clean and stock rooms according to process.  Notify when supplies are needed.
Check monthly for outdated supplies in rooms.
Help providers obtain records or test results if something is missing for appointment.
Prepare charts for clinic by ensuring we have a referral, copay/balance, check in forms, medical history forms, pre-authorization needed (notify medical receptionist to obtain), Pull any Labs, procedures, diagnostic testing required for provider to see patient.
Assist providers in the clinic as needed.
Remove garbage from rooms 
Answer Telephone and take messages when available.
Fill in other locations when needed.
Assist Medical Receptionist as needed.
Participates in work groups as needed to support administrative initiatives.
Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.

Our ideal candidate:
Education and experience
High School Diploma or GED
Must have 1-2 years’ experience working in a medical practice. 
Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Excellent written skills.
Supports the goals of AGC to provider excellent customer care through a commitment to clinical excellence and compassion for every patient, every day.
Attends required meetings and participates in development activities, keeping informed of current trends and changes.
Adheres to AGC policy and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code for the office.

Supports office goals through planning, organizing and quality improvements.
Maintain and role models a professional and courteous behavior with customers, other employees and visitors.

Exhibits effective communication within the department and with all other departments.
Implements and maintains clinical area in accordance with OSHA/CLIA standards
Communicates updated clinical information and office procedures to other team members
Maintains CPR completion card
Insures that supplies and equipment necessary to complete the work assignments are available for continuity with the workflow, safety, and cost effectiveness.
Adheres to Service Excellence Behavior Standards.
Performs mandatory compliance training yearly.
