About the role

Staff Accountant & Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to be our next Staff Accountant to join our team near our Rosemont, IL 60018 location. 

Who We Are:

We sell an established 3D Printer product and well-known brand, primarily to the Education channel.  We have sales in North America and Europe and are in fast growing market.

About the Role:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports, accuracy of accounting records and documents. Also responsible for various financial analysis to support sales operations, inventory, and logistics control.  This position reports to the President and is supported by an external CPA firm and Bookkeeper.

This position uses accounting and admin skills to evaluate the daily operations and prepare financial statements that comply with Corporate regulations and accounting principles. This position also uses analytical skills to support the commercial team and oversees inventory control.

What you’ll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. 

Financial Reporting:

  • Execute and submit (accurately and timely) all monthly, quarterly annual financial reports and provides continuous feedback to Sr. Management on accounting reporting
  • Review all the accounts by state every month, assuring the Company’s compliance with GAAP regulations
  • Generate reports to manage and file State sales tax due as required by State
  • Support and document all audit processes, both external and internal, to ensure timely completion
  • Directly discusses with Sr. Management any issues on the monthly, quarterly, annual reporting packages
  • Reconcile monthly accounting journals and ledgers for month end closing
  • Compile accounting data and investigates discrepancies
  • Assembles financial data for audit


  • Reconcile and categorize expenses and revenue from Bank and Credit Card feed
  • Receive in payments and expenses from various sources matching them to invoices and bills
  • Process returns, credit and debit memos
  • Create purchase orders and bills

Purchases Processing & Inventory:

  • Receive and manage inventory within QuickBooks and reconciles inventory to warehouse count a regular basis
  • Prepare inventory analysis report for monthly business call based on monthly reporting package information
  • Prepare costing schedules and enters build assemblies into QuickBooks

Vendor Processing:

  • Encode payables in workflow for expense approval
  • Encode invoices in QuickBooks for processing and reconciles accounts payable with vendors
  • Sends invoices and manages A/R Aging reports for follow-up and collections
  • Maintains orderly financial filing

Budget & Cashflow:

  • Create and maintain cashflow reports to assist Sr. Management in the budget preparation
  • Prepare the proposed SGA budget for discussion with teams and Accounting Manager
  • Encode purchase and inventory planning within budget process
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting
  • At least 3 (three) years working as a Staff Accountant and Bookkeeping experience
  • Advanced knowledge in Accounting.  Experience in Finance a plus
  • Experience working in an Accounting/auditing company a plus

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop for an inventory-based client (min $10M sales)
  • Microsoft Office suite.  Strong knowledge of Excel and using PivotTables
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Dependable, great attitude and team player
