About the role

Supply Chain Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to be our next Supply Chain Manager to join our team near our Rosemont, IL 60018 location. 

Who We Are:

We sell an established 3D Printer product and well-known brand, primarily to the Education channel.  We have sales in North America and Europe and are in fast growing market.

About the Role:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for directing or coordinating production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, or financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, or safety. Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs. Direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory. This is a hands-on, player/leader type of role containing a good mix of strategic and tactical responsibility. Travel not to exceed 25%.

What you’ll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. 

  • Develop a SIOP process, by Quarter, providing a product forecast based on monthly consumption rates and seasonality analysis
  • Developing, leading, and executing purchasing strategies. Coordinating the PO process, to meet future demand and necessary safety stock
  • Track shipments and provide regular update to the Operations Team of any schedule discrepancies and back-up plans
  • Manage supplier documents for release and transportation including product serial numbers
  • Ensure data integrity in ERP and other operating systems with part/supplier information, including SKUs, HTS codes, UPC, etc.
  • Ensure best practices in inventory management. Including quarterly reports
  • Manage direct/indirect spend and drive YoY cost savings, cycle-time and other efficiencies including software
  • Receive POs and generate paperwork for export, shipping quotes and disposition
  • Drive manufacturing, VQI, documentation and release dates with manufacturers
  • Manage HTS codes and update as needed
  • Drive ship and delivery dates with freight forwarders to ensure cost effective and timely delivery of imported products to our warehouse
  • Coordinate shipments from or warehouse or direct from manufacturer to customer
  • Oversee global logistics management, service providers and strategies
  • Coordinate export shipments to customers
  • Coordinate the financial accomplishment of payments on time, for duties, tariffs, custom charges, and others
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management including strategic and tactical supply, and executive escalations
  • Track record of successes in achieving major cost reductions through collaboration with suppliers and engineering to allow supplier’s deep knowledge of cost drivers to influence design
  • Experienced with negotiating costs and contracts
  • APIM Certified Production Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar certifications welcome
  • Experienced with MRP/ERP Systems
  • Experienced using warehouse management systems
  • Strong negotiation, creative problem-solving and analytical skills with proven results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic sourcing direction for new technologies cross-functionally
  • Ability to build, maintain and use relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
