Santier is currently seeking a Plating Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA 92131.

·         Santier, Inc., formally Plansee TMS, is a center of excellence for the engineering and manufacture of microelectronic housings and assemblies. Our integrated San Diego facility manufactures CuW (copper tungsten), CuMo (copper molybdenum), with other materials available such as CMC (copper molybdenum copper / Cu-Mo-Cu), S-CMC (Super Cu-Mo-Cu) AlGr (aluminum graphite), CuGr (copper graphite), and provides assembly and plating integrating the custom thermal management material into hermetic IC packaging and microelectronic housings. Our product applications span the aerospace, defense, medical, telecom, communication, and many other industries around the world.

About the Role:

·         The Plating Engineer is responsible for creating and documenting processes for plating of various products manufactured at Santier. 

What You’ll Do:

• Provide technical direction and support for bath specifications and monitoring of chemical processing baths.
• Closely support manufacturing in training and troubleshooting daily basis.
• Creates and maintains procedures for product specific plating, plating equipment and process parameters.
• Drive to improve both product quality and production efficiency.
• Assist in cost reduction via yield improvement, reduction in scrap, and minimizing material consumption.
• Support and/or carry out experimentation with formal reporting that is supportive of the goals of the company.
• Must possess knowledge of plating test methods
• General safety knowledge pertaining to plating/chemical processing areas.
• General knowledge of the “Right to Know” chemical safety systems including understanding
• SDS sheets and chemical storage, treatment, and disposal methods.
• Participate and add value in the AS9100 and NADCAP team to achieve company objective.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Degree

·         Minimum of 2 years’ experience in high volume plating of electronic components

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in plating of refractory metal and ceramic packaging
