Tax Manager
We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in our San Diego, CA or Woodland Hills, CA location.

• This is an exciting opportunity for the right person. We are not your typical CPA firm; we don’t believe in working a lot of overtime during the busy season(s). We utilize technology as much as possible to make our processes more efficient and are growing at a rapid pace.
• We currently have an office in San Diego (headquarters) and one in Woodland Hills, along with a team in the Philippines, for a total of 25 employees.

What You’ll Do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
• Interacting with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise
• Providing primary review of all tax returns
• Working closely with partners and staff on client management
• Deposit A/R payments and record in accounting system
• Managing staff on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and manage to budget.
• Managing, developing and training staff on tax projects and assessing performance for engagement and year-end reviews
• Conducting reviews of income tax returns to include Corporate, S-Corp., Partnership, Fiduciary and individual clients. Prepare more complicated returns of all types
• Maintaining communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and make sure deadlines are met
Our Ideal Candidate
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Active CPA license in California
• 5-10 years of progressive federal tax consulting and compliance experience in public accounting
• Experience with Corporate, S-Corp., Partnership, Fiduciary and Non-Profit returns, including multi-state and international tax issues
• 2-5 years of experience reviewing tax returns
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology, Lacerte preferred
