Tax Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in our San Diego, CA or Woodland Hills, CA location.

We currently have an office in San Diego (headquarters) and one in Woodland Hills, along with a team in the Philippines, for a total of 25 employees.

What You’ll Do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned 
Interacting with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise
Providing primary review of all tax returns
Working closely with partners and staff on client management
Deposit A/R payments and record in accounting system
Managing staff on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and manage to budget. 
Managing, developing and training staff on tax projects and assessing performance for engagement and year-end reviews
Conducting reviews of income tax returns to include Corporate, S-Corp., Partnership, Fiduciary and individual clients.  Prepare more complicated returns of all types
Maintaining communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and make sure deadlines are met

Our Ideal Candidate
Education and Experience: 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
Active CPA license in California
5-10 years of progressive federal tax consulting and compliance experience in public accounting
Experience with Corporate, S-Corp., Partnership, Fiduciary and Non-Profit returns, including multi-state and international tax issues
2-5 years of experience reviewing tax returns

Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships
Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology, Lacerte preferred
