About the role

Human Resources Director

We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to join our team in our Seattle, WA 98107 location. We are a Reggio Emilia inspired children's school located in the Fremont community in Seattle.  We care for children ages 6 weeks - 6 years of age.  We will have approximately 98 employees and growing!

About the Role:
The Human Resources Director directs all components of Human Resources including but is not limited to supporting faculty, staff, directors and managers to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of the school and deliver the best talent to the company. This position will nurture relationships with prospective talent and manage on-going professional relationships all while contributing to the growth of the company. This position will also be an onsite point of contact to addressing employee’s dreams and concerns.

What You’ll Do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned 
The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the company’s purpose, values and talent strategy
Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and short-term or long-term disability plans
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs
Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
Oversee the policies, procedures, and programs pertaining to employee relations including development and improving programs related to employee morale and satisfaction
Communicates with employees regarding employee relations concerns; provides guidance and recommendations for resolution of issues
Counsels’ employees on concerns related to applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other similar federal and state laws
Assists directors, managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and related topics. Including provide training and professional development
Administers, coordinates and manages the employee compensation and benefits programs

Our Ideal Candidate:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
10+ years of Human Resources experience (additional years of experience are highly desirable)

Excellent written and verbal communication 
Discernment
Ability to compile, research, and analyze information
Compose and present comprehensive reports
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
