Wireless Technician
GiGstreem is currently seeking an experienced Wireless Technician to join our team in Seattle, Washington (98106).
Job Summary:
The Tier 2 Wireless Technician is responsible for the successful execution of in-field installations, maintenance, climbing tower sites to conduct a repair, customer installations, and customer support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
- Install and maintain new fixed wireless links and infrastructure on buildings extending service to and around properties.
- Survey new properties to determine existing infrastructure and serviceability as well as new launch surveys for quality control and WiFi heat mapping.
- Recognize, practice, and ensure safety rules and procedures, as well as report any violations to the direct supervisor
- Installing Support Structures and J-Hooks
- Testing/Troubleshooting network issues (Connectivity, other Low Voltage Cable associated issues)
- Terminating Cat 5/5e/6/7 Voice Data Cable into: Jacks, 66-110 Blocks, and Patch Panels
- Dressing Communication Closets/IDF’s
- Pulling, Terminating, and Testing of both Cat5 & Fiber Optics cable
- Install Wireless Access Point (WAP), wireless router (RUKUS)
- Rack and stack Juniper switch
- Participate in an on-call rotation with other field service personnel to provide 24x7 coverage for in-field support, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Must have a strong and reliable work ethic, be willing and able to follow directives, and be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience as a Wireless Tower /Low Voltage/Cable Technician.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Experience installing Jupiter switches, Siklu Radio, WAP, and wireless router
- Understanding of Wi-Fi/WiMAX technology
- OSHA 10 certified
Skills and Abilities:
- Needed skills of working with RF, fiber optic, AC and DC power cables with associated panel
- Basic Computer/Email Skills - Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft experience
- Working knowledge in the use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment
