About the role

Accounting Manager

An ADP Client, TGD Associates (Real Estate Development company) is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join the team in Sunny Isles Beach, FL.

The private real estate development company also has operations in California and New York. Company also has investments in other industries such as hospitality, agriculture, commercial buildings, and various other holdings. This position will report directly to the Treasurer. 

About the role:

Accounting manager is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of transactions, delivery of financial statements and supporting documentation, as well as the production of operating budgets and forecasts for our New York/New Jersey operations. 

What you’ll do:

  • Monthly review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, including ensuring all entries are supported by appropriate documentation and in accordance with the Company’s accounting policies; may include preparation and ownership of specific journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review of P&Ls for proper account classification, ensure that all are recorded in the general ledger timely, including reconciliation to the sub-ledger.
  • Perform routine financial statement analysis to assist in ensuring financial statements are of the highest quality, and perform other accounting tasks as required.
  • Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Prepare financial planning/forecasting for monthly operating reports and annual financial plan.
  • Assisting with preparation of financial statements and annual & monthly budgets.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial information required for internal reporting.
  • Research and respond to questions from Operations, Staff and external teams.
  • Assisting in accounting/finance special projects as they arise.

Our ideal candidate:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years in general ledger experience
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills; and, Detail oriented
  • Able to work independently
  • and verbal communication skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to lead a team of 1-2 direct reports.
