Sales Engineer

An ADP client is currently recruiting for an experienced individual to be our next Sales Engineer to join our team in our Westfield, MA 01086 OR Remote (prefer Boston-Springfield, MA – Hartford, CT region or Albany, NY areas) location.

About the Role:

As a Sales Engineer, you’ll combine technical knowledge with sales skills. The balance depends on the level of technical knowledge and understanding you’ll need to sell the design & contract manufacturing services you’re offering and to respond to clients’ questions and needs.   You clients will usually be technical staff from large-to-small medical device companies, doctor-inventories and/or healthcare device distribution companies looking to establish a private label offering.

What you’ll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. 

  • Conducts in-depth product demonstrations of products/services with particular emphasis on ITI’s original design and contract manufacturing services and capabilities
  • Presents the design and contract manufacturing capabilities to customers at events such as conferences and seminars
  • Works with customers to identify opportunities where ITI’s original design and contract manufacturing capabilities support their needs, lower their costs and drive revenue
  • Communicates customer requirements to ITI’s engineering department resources and manufacturing resources – acts as the Voice of the Customer
  • Manages and acts as primary point of contact to host customer visits to ITI
  • Builds a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Negotiates contract terms
  • Acts as Key Account owner/contract administrator for existing and new medical customer accounts
  • Troubleshoots client problems
  • Travels to clients’ sites, as needed
  • Builds an engineering sales and key account ownership team, as needed
  • Keeps CEO and CFO abreast of new leads, project development and key account status
  • Other duties may be assigned by management

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical device design and/or manufacturing or related
  • Minimum (5) five-years of experience in medical device contract manufacturing sales
  • Technical acumen to work side-by-side with ITI engineers in meeting customer product/technical needs
  • Solid references and satisfactory background check
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications i.e., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project and Word

  • Capable of managing the “big picture” while paying attention to detail
