About the role:
BTG is seeking a DBE Outreach Specialist with excellent organizational and analytical skills who is detailed oriented, has strong problem-solving skills, works comfortably under pressure, and can deliver on tight deadlines. The Specialist should be confident, professional, and self-motivated with a keen interest in the ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of a business. The ideal candidate will have outstanding presentation and report writing skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. The Specialist works closely with the BTG Project Manager to provide advice and expertise to clients to help them improve business performance and meet or exceed client expectations. This position provides support to a major infrastructure program’s small business office, facilitating the day-to-day and long-range implementation of outreach and engagement for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) outreach events, tracking engagements with small business owners, and various diversity projects. The Specialist will work in a team environment in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented atmosphere. This person will plan and produce industry events, including speaker outreach, drafting and collaborating event material and collateral, participating in event debriefing sessions and engaging with small business owners and representatives.

  • Plans and attends outreach events targeting the SBE/DBE and contractor community and organizations 
  • Prepares presentations for various groups with clear and understandable information according to the audience and event 
  • Conducts meetings with small business owners interested in doing business on large construction projects 
  • Completes tasks and projects as assigned by DBE Supervisor and DBE Manager
  • Organize and execute assigned business projects according to client’s requirements.
  • Prepares reports highlighting outreach activities 
  • Track attendee participation at outreach events 
  • Conducts outreach and engagement activities with agencies and organizations providing support to the small business community 
Our ideal candidate:
  • BA or BS degree or a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years DBE industry experience 
  • Proven experience as a consultant. 
  • Experience in project management 
  • Thorough knowledge of field of expertise and willingness to keep abreast of advancements. 
  • Ability to develop detailed proposals and plans. 
  • Knowledge of data analysis and research techniques. 
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills. 
  • Analytical and creative 
  • A great listener with ability to communicate with people of diverse disciplines.
