Purchasing Agent

We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in Brentwood, NY 11717

About the Role:

Responsible for developing relationships with existing and potential vendors with the goal of purchasing products and facilitating the correct receiving and processing of orders placed.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide exceptional service to our customers.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplier and equipment.
  • Control purchasing budgets
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Represent companies in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
  • Work independently by setting and meeting goals.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. and overseeing Inventory procedures.

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required 
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in purchasing 
  • QuickBooks Desktop Purchasing Experience preferred

  • Strong negotiating and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills
